The SMART application for Colorado Department of Education was successfully rolled out beginning a new, more efficient method of documenting and tracking Migrant children educational needs. SMART is intended to be the central repository for newly identified, or current students with information stored in several data systems currently maintained by the Colorado Department of Education. In support of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) the purpose of SMART is to identify and process qualified families and students to obtain an electronic Certificate of Eligibility (eCOE) to complete their education.
